do you mean that someone in the top 10 like the 7th person if they are watching the giveaway and are there when it ends they can claim the prize before the 1st person or do you mean there is a time limit like say 1 hour and if the first person doesn't claim it then the 2nd person has a chance if they don't claim it within an hour then it goes down the 3rd and so on? because i didn't see any information about this in the faq or how to play and if all i have to do is be there at the end and claim it before anyone else then i would have been there waiting for when the giveaway ended instead of seeing the email like 4 hours later and finding out i missed my opportunity

The second example you gave is correct.  For a Speed Giveaway, the first person would have 1 hour to claim the prize.  If they didn't claim the prize in that time frame, the second person would have 1 hour to claim the prize.  Then if they didn't claim the prize during their hour it would go the the third person in line and so on. So if you are 7th on the list you just have to wait and hope that no one claims the prize before it gets to be your turn.

The time that you have to claim the prize is dependant upon the type of giveaway it is.  Right now, for the Speed Giveaway the claim time is 1 hour, for the Standard Giveaway the claim time is 24 hours, and for the All-Member Giveaway the claim time is 15 minutes.

I will probably drop out of getting tickets soon. It is just too discouraging to see the same people at the top all the time while I am typically around 30th or even 40th place after all of my hard work. I don't have much of a life, but I guess these folks don't have any. These same people win too many prizes while few others get the chance even with the random draws. No one should be allowed to claim more than one prize every 30, 60 or even 90 days. That would make it interesting because winners would have to decide whether or not they want to claim a lesser prize and possibly miss a chance to win an expensive prize. Instead, they could decide to take a chance and let the lesser prize go to someone lower on the list in order to maintain their eligibility for a bigger prize. I think this would be a grand solution to the frustration and result in getting more prizes to more different players while retaining the challenge to work hard to have the best chance of winning something you really want. Please give this serious consideration. Among other things, I am not always available when the ticket draw happens and the prizes, right now, rarely go more than one hour down the list and seldom even that. If I know that I can't check to claim a prize around the closing point, what point is there in playing? Worse if I expect to be available, but have something come up after i have put in all the time to get tickets. With my idea, any number of players might pass on collecting on a lower value prize to hope for a more expensive prize win. Someone checking hours later could then find themselves eligible to collect a prize they otherwise never would have been in position to opt for. A win win for everyone. It would certainly have a lot more peoples' eyes on the advertisers' prizes.

I keep getting my e-mails a day to late...it was the second time I had to "claim" my prize by a certain date. To bad they send the e-mail a day to late.

That could be a setting in your e-mail program or the server used.  Have you tried sending yourself a test e-mail?  The few e-mails I've gotten are fairly soon after the giveaway, but it's good to know I shouldn't trust them.

It doesn't happen all the time. It works fine a majority of the time. So the problem isn't on my side, but on Raffstar's. I noticed that the site was running a bit slow that day.

All of the delays we have had to investigate thus far appear to have been caused by the recipient's mail servers, particularly free email services such as Yahoo!, Hotmail, and Gmail. These systems can slow delivery due to volume, spam filtering, and system maintenance. To address this we are working on new ways to notify winners other than email.

That said, every automated system can slow down under pressure; real-time processing of data can get tricky on limited resources. We combat this by selecting the winner and notifying them first before processing the leaderboard and other details. We also record the time each winning notification is emailed to help us troubleshoot any apparent conflict.  If you ever feel like there was a delay caused by Raffstar's servers that cost you the prize, let us know and we will look into it.

I just got in the top ten for something, didn't win, but got the e-mail 30 seconds after the drawing ended.
