CAPTCHA

2 years ago#31I'm on my 2nd round of ticket draws for the day, into the fourth hour of this round. There was an 8 hour time between the first and second round. No captchas on the first round and that round was 4 hours for me too. Just got 2 captchas on the 4th set of the 2nd round. I'm drawing tickets for all prizes available to maintain a consistent record. Really would like to know how blackandwhite01 can draw tickets 24/7 without cheating. Even being retired, I have to get sleep each day and run various errands like shopping for food and take care of other business. We will see how many captchas i draw on my next hour of ticket drawing. Yesterday was pretty good. Lets see if things stay that way or if the captchas tend to run out of control again. I still find the "Whoa Cowboy" label on the capchas and the implication in the wording that i am cheating, highly offensive. "Slowing you down. This is normal" or something similar would be far less offensive and insulting.

2 years ago#32Because of a messed up night with little sleep, I have been on this round doing 7 ticket draws doing 11 tickets each time. I am up to 3 captchas per 11 tickets. About right according to the explanation given on how this works. Next draw, I will start dropping the draws on prizes where I have plenty of tickets and am well out of the top 10 and only draw tickets on the prizes where I am in or very near the top 10. I don't want to get overwhelmed in captchas just to see how many it will jump to. I need for it to remain manageable for the tickets I really need to draw. Stand by for next update.

2 years ago#33This hour I only drew 6 tickets, so i only got 1 captcha right at the beginning of the session. Downside is that a lot of the prizes i passed up on tickets this time are ones where all the tickets have to be drawn for the game to be complete. If a bunch of us quit drawing tickets from those to avoid getting overwhelmed with captchas, these games can drag on way too long before a conclusion. Something to be considered. Time draw games wouldn't be affected in the same way because they end at a certain time whether or not any of us are drawing plenty of tickets. I guess when this goes from beta and presumably gets a couple of million players, the ticket based games would go fast regardless of any multiple draws on the part of anyone.

2 years ago#34I have cut back to getting tickets for 6 games for the last few hours and am up to 3 captchas for 6 tickets. By that reasoning, blackandwhite01 must be typing in captchas for every ticket he gets since he plays about all the games 24/7 or very nearly that. At least i would like to believe the aggravation is equitable and no one has managed to beat the system and cheat. However, i am betting that some have found some way around the safe guards. I have only been able to play this heavy for the last couple of days because I have gotten very little sleep and I am getting close to remedying that situation.

Maybe the character will change when and if you go mainstream, but for now, what I see is fewer players are playing the games and the dominators are becoming more and more dominate. So far, the low volume players are still winning a good amount of prises and mostly are online to claim the prizes, but I wonder how much longer that will last as the potential players see the same players on the leader boards and think that because of that they don't have much chance of winning. I have spent time heavily playing all or most all games. I now play fewer games, but i have been playing games continuously for nearly 6 months, yet I have not won a single gift yet. Probably as soon as I finish my current experiment of picking some select games where i can stay in the top 10 for awhile, I will probably quit playing entirely or limit my play to standard 1 ticket per day games, if that doesn't seem to be too much trouble to play and check for winning ticket numbers. I am so sick of your useless, extremely insultingly worded captchas. If you had any class at all you would at least change the wording as I have suggested. The wording is simply insensitive, demeaning, and extremely rude. I have comfortably used captchas at other sites where the captcha system was simply an integral part of posting or signing up and did not severely distract from the very use of the web site. As i stated before, I would rather automatically type a captcha phrase every time I opt to take a ticket rather than have a captcha popup seize control of my computer unexpectedly in the middle of my play. It is nerve wracking.

2 years ago#36I'm down to playing 4 hourly prizes and yet after awhile I still get as much as 2 captchas pop up. Your site is getting more and more unfriendly while having no net effect on curbing the really heavy players. Doesn't seem like a very productive way to run a game site to me. I can see why you haven't taken it out of beta yet. I assume since this site is in Beta, that you actually want feedback.

@chance - The captchas are not dependent upon how many giveaways you are getting tickets for, but on how often you get tickets for the giveaways you are getting tickets. Decreasing the number of giveaways you are getting tickets for will not decrease the amount of captchas you see. At this time, the only way to decrease the amount of captchas you see is to get tickets less frequently on any giveaway you are currently getting tickets.
