Years after the initial idea came about, months after beginning the web design, gallons of coffee later- the bathroom breaks that ineviteably follow- and now, the day has finally arrived… On October 1st, 2008 Raffstar.com goes live to the public for beta testing! Whoohoo!! Now let me politely and preemptively remind everyone what beta testing means: basically we’re trying to work out any bugs or glitches in the system… and we need your help! Since we created raffstar to be a user-friendly interface, we want you to be as straight-forward and honest as possible. Now I’m not guaranteeing that your suggestions will be put into action- especially depending on how outlandish they may be (I understand that some people like purple elves, but I’m sorry, we just can’t change our logo)- but if you experience any problems or think of something that might make it easier for yourself or someone else to use the site, by all means please let us know. Test it out as in-depthly as you possibly can (is in-depthly a word? if not, let’s all use it until it becomes one).

So here’s a few things you can do to help us out:

Mess around on the forums- post comments, talk back and forth, help new-comers out, etc. All those things that make a web forum what it is…

Check out the featured charities. Raffstar was created to bring greater awareness to charities and the works they are doing. Follow the links to their sites and tell your friends, family, co-workers, etc. what the charities are all about. If you can donate directly to them as well, volunteer your time, or help however you can, then we’ll know we’re doing our job right.

Remember this is the beta stage so you’ll see regular changes and updates- including the prizes being added regularly; but the thing we’re looking for most of all is FEEDBACK from you the user. We’re looking to all of you to help us advance. Other than that- have fun! We appreciate your help in making raffstar even better.
